| The Redwood Empire Railroad History Project is a joint effort of Roots of Motive Power and the Mendocino County Museum. It includes a site to display the Roots collection and a Restoration Building to provide a facility for year-round work, an Exhibition and Learning Center, with Engine House and Research Library, adjacent to the existing Mendocino County Museum and a track connecting the Roots facility to the Engine House.
A three-quarter mile loop track around playing fields to the east of the Museum is under construction. A rail connection from the Roots loop track to the Northwestern Pacific Railroad mainline is also planned. This project is located in Willits CA.
