Roots member Ken McCrary talks with visitors interested in his Cat Sixty tractor. It was built at nearly the end of production of gas Sixtys in 1931. What's unusual about it is the configuration and condition. It's a "snow special" which includes the hood and cab and it is equipped with the "logging cruiser" package which includes a beefed up undercarriage and drawbar and a front hook, all factory original. The tractor was once used as a snowplow in Ellisburg, New York, a small town on the east end of Lake Ontario.
Other than the somewhat unusual color scheme applied in the mid-1960s and a rebuilt magneto, it's in original unrestored condition. Ken bought it along with some other equipment north of Toronto, Ontario in 1984 from the late Ross Johnson and shipped it home by rail.
